Tracking Transactions

Every transaction in Mera Paisaa is captured inside the ledger box.

Adding a Transaction

1. Tap the FAB (Floating Action Dock) or the Action Row on the dashboard.
2. Select Income or Expense.
3. Fill out the fields:
   • Amount: Enter the numerical amount.
   • Category: Choose a category (e.g. Food, Transport, Rent, Entertainment, Groceries, Business, Family).
   • Account: Link the transaction to a specific account (e.g. Cash, HDFC, SBI). This automatically updates the account balance.
   • Date: Select the transaction date.
   • Note / Merchant: Enter transaction notes or merchant details.
   • Goal Linking: Link the expense or savings transfer to a Savings Goal.
4. Save the transaction.

Categories & Smart Visual Systems

Each category is bound to a specific visual theme:

• 🍔 Food: Orange / Warm Amber
• 🚗 Transport: Cyan / Sky Blue
• 🎬 Entertainment: Indigo / Purple
• 🛒 Groceries: Green / Emerald
• 🏠 Rent / Utilities: Blue
• 💼 Business: Purple
• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family: Rose / Crimson

Filters, Search & Ledger Exports

• Live Search: Type into the search bar at the top of the Ledger screen. It matches notes, categories, account names, and amounts.
• Profile Filtering: Transactions are filtered by your active Ledger profile (Personal, Business, or Family).
