SECTION 1 — Welcome to Mera Paisaa
What Mera Paisaa Is
Mera Paisaa is an advanced financial tracking and planning platform that serves as a personal "Money OS." It combines traditional transaction logging and account consolidation with proactive budget boundaries, savings goal trackers, debt ledgers, recurring bill simulators, and offline intelligence tools.
Who It Is For
- Students: Individuals seeking to structure pocket money, enforce category limits, and prevent overspending.
- Professionals: Salaried employees focused on wealth accumulation, investment logging, net worth tracking, and savings milestones.
- Freelancers: Gig workers and independent contractors tracking irregular income, active invoices, outstanding receivables, and cash flows.
- Business Owners: Entrepreneurs tracking business revenue, payable debts (Udhar), inventory expenditures, and overall business cash flow.
Key Benefits
- Complete Privacy: Offline-first design keeps all financial statements, transactions, and account details strictly on your local device.
- Zero Lag Synchronicity: Updates are stored in a local sync queue and sent to the cloud sequentially when an internet connection is available.
- Adaptive Interface: The dashboard dynamically structures itself to match your active financial persona (Student, Professional, Freelancer, or Business).
- Cross-Book Accounting: Support for swappable profiles (Personal, Business, and Family) to manage separate ledgers without mixing funds.
- Automated Helpers: Sandbox tools to simulate bank statement syncing (Account Aggregator), invoice scanning (OCR), and SMS alert ingestion.
Core Philosophy
Mera Paisaa is built on the principle that financial discipline is formed through visibility and positive habits. By combining streak tracking, progress gamification, and automated smart nudges, it guides users from basic transaction logging to active wealth optimization.
SECTION 2 — Getting Started
Installation & System Setup
Mera Paisaa is designed for mobile devices.
- Download and install the application package.
- Grant required permissions (Camera permission is necessary for the OCR Receipt Scanner; Local Notifications permission is needed to receive budget warnings, goal milestones, and bill reminders).
First Launch & User Persona Customization
Upon launching the application for the first time, you will meet the Onboarding Screen. Rather than requiring a lengthy profile form, Mera Paisaa asks a single, critical question: "Who are you?"
You must choose one of the four financial personas:
- 🎓 Student: Tailors the dashboard to prioritize budget progress and study expenses.
- 💻 Freelancer: Prioritizes outstanding invoices, active income tracking, and cash flow stats.
- 💼 Professional: Prioritizes savings goals progress, net worth metrics, and investments.
- 🏪 Business: Prioritizes debt ledger (Udhar) cash flows, revenue, and client receivables.
This selection configures your default dashboard order and enables customized local recommendations. You can modify your financial profile at any time in settings.
Profile Setup & Login Options
After choosing your persona, you will proceed to the Login Screen. Mera Paisaa provides two primary entry options:
- Continue with Google: Authenticates via Google Sign-In, links your profile to secure Firebase storage, and activates remote bidirectional sync.
- Continue as Guest (Anonymous): Starts an anonymous offline-only session. Your financial records are saved entirely locally in the device's secure Hive boxes.
Note: In Guest mode, signing out will wipe the local boxes for privacy. To preserve data, it is recommended to link a Google Account.
