Managing Accounts

Mera Paisaa allows you to mirror your real-world financial structure by managing multiple wallets and accounts.

Types of Accounts

You can create three primary types of accounts:

  1. Cash Wallet: For tracking physical cash on hand.
  2. Bank Account: Savings or Current accounts (e.g., HDFC, SBI).
  3. Credit Card: For tracking outstanding balances and limits.

How to Add a New Account

  1. Open the sidebar menu and navigate to Accounts.
  2. Tap the + Add Account button at the bottom right.
  3. Select the Account Type (Cash, Bank, or Credit Card).
  4. Enter the Account Name (e.g., "HDFC Salary").
  5. Enter the Current Balance. For Credit Cards, enter your current outstanding amount.
  6. Pick an Icon and Color to easily identify this account in charts.
  7. Tap Save.

Editing or Deleting an Account

  • To edit an account's details or adjust its balance, simply tap on the account card in the Accounts list.
  • To delete an account, open the account details, tap the three dots in the top right, and select Delete Account.

[!WARNING] Deleting an account will not delete the associated transactions, but those transactions will become "Uncategorized" in terms of funding source.

Transferring Money Between Accounts

  1. Tap the Transfer quick action on the Dashboard.
  2. Select the From Account (e.g., SBI Bank).
  3. Select the To Account (e.g., Cash Wallet).
  4. Enter the amount and an optional note (e.g., "ATM Withdrawal").
  5. Tap Transfer. This will deduct from the source and add to the destination without affecting your overall net worth.
