Mera Paisaa is built on a "Privacy First, Offline First" architecture. Here is how you manage your app and your data.

Customizing the App

Go to the Settings menu by tapping the gear icon on the Dashboard.

Theme & Aesthetics

Mera Paisaa defaults to our signature "Dark Luxury" theme, but you can customize it:

Dark/Light Mode: Toggle based on system settings or force dark mode.
Accent Colors: Choose between Emerald (default), Teal, or Gold accents to personalize your experience.

Currency & Locale

Change your default currency symbol (₹, $, €, etc.).
Adjust date formatting based on your region.

Data Privacy & Security

Biometric Lock

Ensure no one can access your financial data even if your phone is unlocked.

Go to Settings > Security.
Toggle Require Biometrics.
Authenticate with your fingerprint or face to confirm.

Privacy Screen

Toggle the Hide Balances feature to blur all sensitive numbers by default when opening the app. You can tap individual numbers to reveal them temporarily.

Data Portability (Export & Import)

Because Mera Paisaa is offline-first, your data lives in a local SQLite database on your phone. You own it.

Exporting a Backup

We highly recommend exporting your data regularly, especially if you haven't linked a phone number for cloud sync.

Go to Settings > Data Management.
Tap Export Backup.
The app will generate a highly encrypted .mpbak file.
Save this file to your Google Drive, iCloud, or email it to yourself.

Restoring from Backup

If you get a new phone or reinstall the app:

On the Welcome Screen, tap Restore from Backup.
Select your previously saved .mpbak file.
Enter the PIN you used at the time the backup was created to decrypt the data.
Your dashboard will instantly populate exactly as you left it.

[!WARNING] Data Deletion: Tapping "Erase All Data" in Settings will permanently wipe the local database. If you haven't exported a backup, this action cannot be undone.
